Shubh’s Journey: Tackling E-Waste Through Trust and Tech

Shubh Tanna grew up in Gujarat in a supportive family where entrepreneurship and ambition were deeply valued. With a B.Tech degree completed and preparations underway for his master’s, Shubh chose to pursue his passion for problem solving through Web Warriors, a startup focused on reducing e-waste by improving the second hand electronics market. He credits much of his progress to his  co-founder, who has been his biggest strength throughout the journey. Having someone with the same mindset, he says, made the entire experience more focused, collaborative, and fulfilling.

People want to sell their old phones, but they don’t trust the pricing or the shopkeepers—there’s a real gap we need to fix.

We at DPurpose were glad to support Shubh and his team as they transformed their idea into Web Warriors. Through structured startup development, expert guidance, and regular insight sessions, we helped them bring clarity to their business model, improve app design, and refine the user experience. Continuous feedback throughout the journey helped the team stay focused, build confidence, and move closer to launch readiness.

Shubh’s journey began at a government hackathon in Gujarat, where he and his co-founder proposed an idea to tackle e-waste. Though not selected, they stayed determined and identified trust and fair pricing as key barriers in the second hand electronics market. This led them to build a platform connecting users with verified vendors, ensuring transparency and promoting device reuse. They validated their concept through on ground research and continuous learning.

Today, Web Warriors is in its development phase, with the team actively building the platform and preparing for market launch. With initial grants secured from their university and government schemes, Shubh and his team remain dedicated to creating a trustworthy, user-friendly service that not only benefits customers but also promotes a more sustainable future through responsible reuse.
