Shubh’s Journey: Building eBuddy — A Fair & Transparent Way to Sell Electronics

Shubh Tanna grew up in Gujarat in a family where ambition, discipline, and building something meaningful were always encouraged. After completing his B.Tech from Parul University and preparing for his master’s, Shubh chose to follow his passion for solving real-world problems through eBuddy, a platform he co-founded with Tarang to bring transparency and trust to India’s second-hand electronics market.

He credits much of his strength and progress to his co-founder Tarang, who has been his biggest support throughout the journey. Having someone with the same mindset, Shubh says, made everything more focused, collaborative, and fulfilling.


People want to sell their old phones & laptops, but they don’t know the real value – and they dont trust the quotes they get. That’s the real gap we’re trying to fix.

At DPurpose, we were glad to support Shubh and Tarang as they transformed their idea into eBuddy. Through structured startup development, expert guidance, and regular insight sessions, we helped them sharpen their business model, improve their platform design, and build a clearer user experience. Continuous feedback kept the team focused and confident as they moved closer to launch.

Shubh’s journey began at a government hackathon in Gujarat, where he and Tarang, both students from Parul University, proposed a solution to the growing e-waste problem. Even though they weren’t selected, they stayed determined and identified the real issue users face:
no trust in pricing and no transparency between sellers and shopkeepers.

This led them to build eBuddy — a platform where users can connect with verified shopkeepers, get fair quotes through competitive bidding, and receive technician-backed inspection reports for accuracy. Their on-ground research confirmed the need for a system that ensures fairness, clarity, and smoother reuse of devices, whether working or not.

Today, eBuddy is actively in development.
The landing page is already live at ebuddyy.com, and the team is preparing for its full market launch. With initial grants secured from Parul University and government support, Shubh and Tarang remain committed to creating a trustworthy, easy-to-use platform that helps users get the best value for their electronics — while promoting responsible reuse and reducing e-waste in India.
